Dale Whinery, Founder and President
Dale is an ordained minister with mission medical experience and has served in the field for more than 35 years. He began his flight training at 14, soloed at 16, and then continued his flight training until he earned his commercial license, instrument, multi-engine and sea plane rating. He has served as a pilot for various secular and mission organizations until founding Wings of Faith Ministries, Inc. in 1976 as a support arm for remotely located missions and missionaries. Wings of Faith Ministries has transported tons of cargo (Bibles, relief supplies, medicines, clothes, food), people, medical teams and evangelists—flying to remote and otherwise inaccessible air strips in the mountain and desert regions without a single accident. Dale has 6 children and 15 grandchildren. In 2001 Mission Aviation News honored Dale and Wings of Faith Ministries for 25 years of faithful service.
Joseph and Marie Terry
Joseph is retired from a successful business life and is now serving as Secretary for Wings of Faith Board of Directors. Joe is also the Senior Administrator for the organization. Joe and Marie have been active in Wings of Faith for many years. Marie is in charge of mailing the newsletter. She volunteers her time preparing loads to be flown to the various missionary locations, and she is also a very active intercessory prayer warrior.
Curtis and Judy Holland
Curtis and Judy are currently serving on the Board of Directors of Wings of Faith Ministries, Inc. and have been since 2003. Judy is a job developer working with children who have special needs and those who have learning disabilities. Curtis was a corporate pilot in corporate aviation for over forty years. He is currently inactive in the profession, but flies on Wings of Faith mission flights when he has the opportunity. He is also involved in the establishment of a humanitarian funding organization. Curtis and Judy have four children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. They have been born again Christians for over twenty-five years and both are ordained ministers.
Nick and Carol Nicolary
Nick was the Chief Pilot for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Companies West Coast Airship Operations from 1967 until 2002, retiring with 35 years of service. He holds an Airline Transport Certificate with a Commercial Lighter-than-Air Airship, Multi-Engine Land, and instrument ratings. He has logged more than 13,000 hours of flying time dating back to October of 1957. Nick joined Wings of Faith in November of 2003 during the Christmas Toy Runs and makes several flights each year. Nick is now our Director of Flight Operations. He and his wife Carol were elected to the Wings of Faith Board of Directors in the Spring of 2006. Carol worked for the Corona Public Library and Crossroads Christian Church. She volunteered at the Corona Regional Hospital for more than 10 years. Since September 2006, she has volunteered at the Corona Library. She began doing volunteer work for Wings of Faith by arranging to collect clothing from Crossroads Church, Village Grove Homeowners Association, and the Children’s Orchards thrift shops.
Ted and Carol Leenerts
Ted is a Captain for Alaska Airlines who comes from an aviation family and has been an airline pilot for over 32 years following a successful career as a Navy pilot. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with numerous type ratings in transport aircraft as well as a Flight Engineer rating; Certified Flight Instructor—airplane single/multiengine/instrument ratings; and an Airframe & Powerplant rating. He has logged over 28,000 hours. Answering the call to ministry, Ted is also an ordained Pastor in the Presbyterian Church. He holds an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering and has earned several Master degrees in Psychology, Theology, and Divinity as well as a Doctorate in Ministry. He was recently recalled to active duty as a Navy Chaplain for the Marine Corps. His wife, Carol, is a hotel management executive and is also an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church. She is in the process of obtaining her Private Pilot license and looks forward to ministry flying. They are both supporters of and currently serving on the Board of Directors of Wings of Faith Ministries.
Tom and Paula Leedom
Tom began his aviation career in the early 1960s. He holds a commercial ticket, multi-engine land, and instrument ratings. In his early aviation days, he spent time as a charter pilot through-out California, Arizona and Nevada. After marriage, he spent the next 25 years of his professional career in sales and sales management in the orthopedic medical field. Tom joined Wings of Faith in 2007 and soon became Director of Marketing. In January of 2009, he and his wife Paula were elected to the Wings of Faith Board of Directors. Shortly, he will also be volunteering for pilot missions in the field. Tom and Paula have been married for over 40 years, have two sons and daughter-in-laws, and are blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren. After college, Paula joined a firm in Newport Beach and had an accomplished career as an Interior Designer. Paula is actively involved in two Bible Studies and takes every opportunity to enthusiastically promote the Wings of Faith Mission.
