WOF started delivery of over 1,000 backpacks, binders, notebooks, pencils, etc  with a delivery on Monday to the La Jolla Reservation by Sylvia Acosta. Sylvia volunteered the family pickup and her day and visited Suan Curo at Tribes4Christ on the La Jolla Reservation with the requested number of backpacks and contents along with some food provided by Serve-One Ministries. Tuesday, Jim Yost was able to fly school supplies and food to Kenny Franks, now serving the Native Americans near Tollhouse, CA and Sean Landivar serving the migrant farm workers near Fresno, CA. Three more missions are scheduled to receive school supplies and backpacks this week, including Daphne Hill-Poolaw, Bruce Williams(both out of Parker, AZ) and Christian Lent in Minden, NV

EAA Airventure 2013

Marc Wheeler, Bruce Nelson, Ted and Carol Leenerts are busy at EAA Airventure this week. WOF along with roughly twenty other missionary aviation organizations from around the globe are set up to answer  questions and promote our organization at the world's largest aviation event. Oshkosh, WI, hosts this mammoth event each year and every year there are outstanding new aircraft and technologies unveiled. Meanwhile, the Internation Association of Missionary Aviaiton plays a great host to our reps who enjoy talking to attendants in a large tent along with other organizations. Missionary Aviation Support Association does a terrific job in housing, feeding and logistically supporting our members.

September Breakfast at Carrows to Include Aviation Safety Seminar

If we can get twenty members, pilots and non pilots, to commit to attend September breakfast meeting at Carrow's, we can have a fully certified safety instructor provide an appropriate safety related topic to our group. Let me know if you would be able to attend on the 3rd Saturday of September. We will have to limit the attendance, but it will be a good opportunity to invite a Christian pilot friend and introduce them to WOF and you both can get WINGS credit for  attendance. Notify me ASAP is you can commit to this fun opportunity! email to jim yost,

Christian Lent Leads in the Minden NV Area

Distributing backpacks for native Indian children charityChristian Lent, a young pastor, has agreed to take over the duties of Kenny Franks in the Minden area. Kenny has departed to the western side of the Sierras and is serving the Native Americans near Tollhouse, CA.

Christian is working hard to get to know the folks in the Minden area and is becoming a solid partner with "feet on the ground" to WOF. Pictured here is a recent event where Christian's faithful have assisted the needy in the Minden area with some new clothing and food provided through WOF

Meet a WOF Pilot - Jason Ramirez

Meet Jason RamirezThis month, meet Jason Ramirez. He is a faithful contributor to WOF as well as a dedicated Special Needs Administrator for the Corona School District, husband, father of 3, Youth Group leader at his church, pilot, truck driver and photo archivist for WOF.(can you spell B-U-S-Y?) Jason and his Dad recently upgraded and renovated a Cessna 210 and have begun to use it for the ministry. Recently they went to Nogales with a load for one of our missionaries to Mexico, Victor Pinzon. The new 210 is a heavy hauler and pretty fast too. See the photo in the left margin.
